My photograph of this stunning highland lochan near Aviemore has been awarded 2nd place in the Category of Trees, Woods & Forests in the International Garden Photographer of the Year Competition 15.
On a calm, autumn morning I decided to explore an area of woodland close to Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park. I found a small lochan surrounded by golden foliage of silver birch, and complemented by a light covering of frost on the ferns below.
